Materials Guide

The material.
The character.

One design. A different way to wear it.

18K SOLID GOLD

75% Pure Gold · 750

18K gold contains 18 parts pure gold and 6 parts strengthening alloys, giving it a rich color and unmistakable weight while making it more suitable for jewelry than pure 24K gold.

Often stamped 18K or 750, it contains 75% pure gold, the highest gold content offered in the Seth Anthony collection.

Its higher gold content creates a deeper, more saturated gold tone and makes 18K an exceptional choice for a piece intended to live in your collection for decades.

Why 18K GOLD

Richest gold tone · 75% pure gold · Solid precious metal · Made for longevity · Heirloom-worthy

Best for

The wearer looking for the highest gold content, a richer color, and a piece designed to be kept and passed down.

14K SOLID GOLD

58.5% Pure Gold · 585

14K gold contains 14 parts pure gold and 10 parts strengthening alloys. Often stamped 14K or 585, it balances the permanence of solid gold with increased durability for everyday wear.

Because pure gold is naturally soft, 14K gold is generally more resistant to everyday wear than 18K gold. Its hardness also depends on the alloy composition and how the piece is made.

It is still solid gold through and through, never plated, and offers an ideal balance of luxury and resilience.

Why 14K GOLD

Solid gold · Increased durability · Everyday wear · Timeless · Made to last

Best for

The wearer who wants the permanence of solid gold with added durability for a piece that rarely leaves their hand.

WHITE GOLD

Solid Gold · Reimagined in a Cooler Tone

White gold begins with real gold, blended with light-colored alloys to create its signature cool-toned finish.

Available in 14K and 18K, it offers everything we love about solid gold: value, permanence, and longevity, in a modern silver-toned palette.

White gold jewelry is commonly finished with rhodium to create its bright white appearance. With years of wear, that finish may gradually soften and can be professionally renewed.

Why WHITE GOLD

Solid precious metal · Cool-toned finish · Modern · Refined · Designed for longevity

Best for

The wearer drawn to silver tones who wants the permanence and heirloom quality of solid gold.

ROSE GOLD

Solid Gold · Warm by Design

Rose gold gets its distinctive warmth by combining pure gold with copper-rich alloys, creating a soft blush tone that feels both unexpected and timeless.

Like other solid gold options, the color exists throughout the metal rather than as a surface coating. It will not simply “wear off” with time.

Available in 14K and 18K, with the precise tone influenced by gold purity and alloy composition.

Why ROSE GOLD

Solid precious metal · Warm blush tone · Distinctive · Timeless · Made for longevity

Best for

The wearer looking for something warmer, less expected, and unmistakably their own.

STERLING SILVER

92.5% Pure Silver · 925

Sterling silver contains 92.5% pure silver combined with strengthening metals to create a precious metal durable enough for jewelry.

Often stamped 925, sterling silver offers the cool, sculptural appearance of a white metal while allowing our designs to exist at a more accessible price point.

Unlike plated jewelry, sterling silver is silver throughout. Natural tarnishing can occur as the metal reacts with its environment, but with proper care and polishing, its finish can be beautifully restored again and again.

Why STERLING SILVER

92.5% pure silver · Precious metal · Silver throughout · Polishable · Designed for repeat wear

Best for

The wearer who loves a cool-toned finish, wants a genuine precious metal, and isn't afraid to actually wear their jewelry.

18K GOLD VERMEIL

18K Gold · 2.5 Microns · 925 Sterling Silver Base

Not all gold plating is created equally.

Seth Anthony gold vermeil begins with solid 925 sterling silver and is finished with a substantial 2.5-micron layer of 18K gold.

The result: the look and richness of gold with genuine sterling silver underneath.

Because vermeil is a surface finish, the gold layer will naturally evolve with wear. Water, chemicals, fragrance, sweat, friction, and individual wear habits can accelerate that process. Thoughtful care will significantly extend the life of the finish.

Why 18K GOLD VERMEIL

18K gold finish · 2.5-micron plating · Solid 925 sterling silver beneath · Precious-metal construction · Elevated alternative to conventional plating

Best for

The wearer who wants the look of 18K gold at a more accessible price point, or loves changing and layering pieces without committing every purchase to solid gold.

A choice in material

Solid gold
or vermeil?

Think about how you intend to wear it.

Choose solid gold if you want a piece for decades of wear, prefer a material that is gold throughout, or are investing in something you hope to eventually pass down.

Choose gold vermeil if you want the look of 18K gold with a precious sterling-silver foundation at a more accessible price point, and don't mind giving your jewelry a little more care.

Neither changes the design.

Same Seth Anthony piece. Different way to wear it.

A note on wear

Precious does not mean indestructible.

Gold, silver, and vermeil all respond differently to daily life. Scratches, patina, tarnish, and gradual changes in finish are natural characteristics of jewelry that is actually worn.

We believe good jewelry should live with you.

Wear it. Care for it. Keep it. Pass it down.
